Secrets & Seductions is a heartwarming tale of Celia and Silas, each desperate to escape their lives and the marriages being arranged for them. What they went looking for was freedom and a new start…what they found was each other and a love…well…you’ll have to read the book to find that part out.

This book has been sitting on scraps of paper for years. I’ve looked at it every year, pondered, then put it back in one of my many notebooks. The girl who wrote it was in her 20s and quickly jotted it down on her lunch break before going back to work…now that I’m a woman of nearly 47, it’s hard to remember what my intention for the story ever was.

Finally, last year, I typed the notes into my computer, and the characters started to take shape. The anthology it will be part of, Establishments of Pleasure, is a work in progress for me and an inspiration from my ever-supportive husband. Odd, I guess, to have an anthology with stories by just me, but that’s what it will be. The plan is that each book will involve a pub, or club of some kind as its setting – something most small towns in North Queensland had during the turn of the century.
Oh, and for the history buffs out there, Wangaratta Creek is an actual place, or at least a bridge just north of Bowen, Qld – the name traces back to the old Wangaratta Shire (created in 1879), which surrounded the town of Bowen on three sides and governed the region prior to amalgamating into the Whitsunday Regional Council.
Hope you enjoy the book!
